So i've been bored at work today and decided to check out the debate between Evolution and intelligent design (note the use of capitals, this is because Evolution is science, i.d ain't)
The whole debate fascinates me. i.d is merely creationism wearing silly glasses and a fake moustache. It's not fooling anybody. At the end of the day, they are saying that an invisible man in the sky created everything 6000 years ago. What about the dinosaurs and fossils, I hear you say?
Those were just put here to test us, of course! Yeah right.
Anybody who believes in this bullshit obviously is missing a gene. It's no surprise that the southern American states are the main proponents of this travesty. Too much inbreeding and general mental illness have taken their toll. I'd sooner believe in UFO's than this i.d. crap. At least it's got a chance of occurring. I know there are many supporters of i.d. who claim that science and religion can support each other. This is not true. Religion was the answer to every question that couldn't be answered. How did this happen? How did that happen? Why does this happen? God did it. How convenient.
Don't get me wrong here, I've got nothing against people who believe in God. It's just that willfully ignoring facts is tantamount to bald-faced lying. It astounds me that schools have to teach this shit in some places. The argument is that it presents a "balanced" view on how things came to be. Bullshit! Proven scientific fact taught alongside a fairytale is not "balanced", it's ridiculous. They might as well teach that the moon is made of cheese, it would be no less insane than i.d.
Oh well, reading that stuff online gets my blood boiling and since I firmly believe creationism (AKA pseudoscience/farce intelligent design) is a load of bollocks, here is a nice link to enjoy if you are in the evolution camp. (also known as the people with more than one brain cell camp)
